Cara, I’m glad you took the time not just to read, but to join the conversation. That’s what I hope this space can be — a gathering of thoughtful people engaging one another around ideas that matter. I’m grateful you’re here!

What an extraordinarily beautiful expression. This I will save and share. I'm part of a weekly Christian prayer group that will love what your wrote and pulled together. Israel is in our prayers and the return of the hostages was our joy. The people of this blessed Country, in order to to survive, must embrace God, moral clarity and the courage to stand against the darkness that strives to engulf us. We need to cling to God, our Constitution, and the courage of our Founders. Thank you for this. Camilla

I share your admiration, Camilla — what struck me about this piece is how it transcends politics and speaks to how we can sustain a free society. Whether one’s faith is religious or civic, Melanie captured the kind of clarity and gratitude we need right now.

Meaningful and excellent, Melanie. Thank you for this. Moral truths that resonate today, as in ancient times when they were first taught. People would do well to turn to scripture for wisdom. Thank you for pointing in that direction.
